Lost home due to flood

Donation protected
First I’d like to start by saying thank you for stopping to read this. I know many in San Diego have been affected by the recent flooding all over and I am so sorry to everyone going through this. I pray everyone stays safe and is able to get things back in working order. I am trying to get my family on their feet as well, we have lost almost everything we had.

On January 22, 2024 we were all hit pretty hard after a category 3 storm that contributed to the overflow of a flood channel. We also have very little to no help from management at this time. I cant afford to move and now only guaranteed a hotel stay until the 31st. We have no idea what we are going to do and where we are going to go.
I am a single parent and it hurts me to know that my children that lost every toy they owned, game systems and devices, shoes , some of our clothing, our furniture as well is ruined. Our kitchen and all appliances were destroyed. I am thankful that we were all safe. I had just returned to work that day after being out of work for a week due to my kids being ill. I ended up getting a call from my mother who is disabled letting me know of a flood and how the water was so high up that she was unable to enter it. My mom just got an electric scooter because she has difficultly walking around but the scooter is no longer working. Our stuff that we worked so hard for has literally washed away.

We no longer have a space to be comfortable in after a long day or work and school. I understand this was materialistic that can be replaced but it still saddens us. Most importantly we all lost photos and special memories that you can’t replace. We no longer have a place to cook and come together. This took our joy and we understand now that you don’t know how much you really have until it’s all taken away from you. We are in survival mode, trying to use every resource we can to eat a hot meal, find gas and repairs on the van and manage somewhere to stay because management says that this may take up to 4 months to restore, they are being very vague and not giving much info as to how they can help and we are unsure where we will end up after the 31st. My mom has very bad arthritis and is struggling to get around so we need a safe place to be. Please to anyone that can help us with a small donation is much appreciated.
