Disabled Racing Driver

Hi, my name is Jonathan, and I am a Disabled British Racing Driver with Ankylosing Spondylitis Arthritis and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Some people would say these are setbacks; however, I would say these are my strengths and let me rise to the challenge and make me more hungry to achieve.

I have competed in motorsport, including HSA Sprint Championship in a Jedi with a Yamaha R1 engine, Track Day Championship in an Mk1 Mx5 and Ford Ka Endurance. In December 2022, I achieved one of my dreams of becoming an International Racing Driver when I was invited to Mexico City to compete in the Copa Notiauto 24 hour at The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, the F1 track. In 2023 I will be competing with Autotech Motorsport in the EnduranceKA around the entire UK at tracks like Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, Donington Park, Brands Hatch & Snetterton. I competed in the first round of the Focus Cup and would like to compete in more to show what I can do.

Since I was young and diagnosed with disabilities, I was told many things, like "You may not be able to walk again" when I was in my wheelchair. Now, I am walking and have lost 11 1/2 stone in a year, so I could be fit before my first taste of racing a car, competing in one of the most physically demanding sports, and achieving my goals. The reason for this GoFundMe is not only to compete because it is my passion but to show others that the impossible becomes possible when you put your mind to it.
