Hello, my name is James Lucas and I have type 1 diabetes.

In mid February of this year I was hospitalized with DKA after unknowingly not receiving my insulin for two days. When I arrived at the hospital, doctors were surprised I was at a least not already in a coma, I shouldn’t have survived this experience.

Unfortunately a week in the hospital and another we of missing work during home recovery started me on a bad spiral of not being able to afford medical bills. On top of the thousands owed for the hospital trip there are still the normal high medical costs for insulin and other diabetic supplies.

I struggled alone for a very long time before accepting I needed to get help with this. Please, any kind of donation you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
