Send DEBATE-KC to the Dowling

DEBATE-Kansas City (DKC ) needs your help to send 30 deserving high school students to one of the premiere academic competitions in the Midwest. DKC is a nonprofit organization supported by the University Missouri Kansas City that runs an Urban Debate League. We help city schools field debate teams and we need to raise $5,000 to provide lodging and competition fees for our schools to attend the Dowling Catholic Paradigm speech and debate tournament December 11-13, 2015 in Des Moines, IA. To plan the trip we need to raise the money by early November.

Weekend debate tournaments like the Dowling make a big impact for DKC students because they get the chance to compete against some of the best debaters in the country. However, overnight trips require resources and school budgets are tight. Your donation will help DKC provide up to 30 students from area urban schools the following:
·      Two days of hotel lodging in Des Moines, IA
·      Meal assistance
·      Tournament competition entry fees for the Dowling
·      Judging and coaching support

A one-time grant allowed DKC to fund the Dowling trip last year and you can read about our success here . The experience of competing at the Dowling helped two DKC policy debate teams finish second and third at the Urban Debate Nationals  later in the season.
