Help Byron on his DMI journey!

Our son, Byron was born with server hydrocephalus, L1 syndrome, as well as a kinked brain stem. He wasn’t suppose to live long, if at all….BUT GOD had other plans.

Due to his diagnosis he is delayed in physical strength. Byron has been doing normal OT & PT therapy since we came home from NICU, 2 years now.

Byron had 1 DMI session in December 2023 and it left us with tremendous results the next day.

DMI is a technique used in OT & PT to treat children with motor delays by improving postural responses and promoting progress towards development milestones.

DMI stimulates neuroplasticity to facilitate NEW neuronal connections.

He was stronger and moving his body in a way he’d never done before. Using muscles he’d never used before. Reaching started then. Wanting to extend arms away from body started then. Wanting to stand started then. Everything activated in his brain that moment.

As parents, we want the BEST for our boy.

We believe God is opening doors closer to healing for his body. DMI is the start to that journey.

It's a 3 week intensive that will be packed with physical growth and stimulate new neurons in his brain by highly trained professionals.

Unfortunately, insurance will not cover cost.

This will be all out of pocket for our family but we know it’s WORTH it! On top of the DMI intensive cost, lodging for 3 weeks is insanely expensive.

* Pray that Byron’s body will get stronger leading up to intensive.

* During the 3 weeks, his body responds well and can get rest and he can get the most out of this time.

* Pray he warms up to the therapist quickly.

* Gods protection in a city we’ve never been too.

* Pray for Evie over the 3 weeks, NICU days rocked her world out of our routine.

* Pray her heart to understand all the attention on Bubba during the session and not to be jealous but helpful and hopeful to know Bubba will get stronger and be able to play more.

* Pray for travels (longest car ride yet)

* Pray over lodging.
