Beverly Simpson’s funeral expenses

My name is Dr. Steve Custer and I have the blessing of knowing Dr. Mark Simpson both as a dear friend and a respected colleague. His mother, Beverly Jean Simpson, went on to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Dr. Simpson has been her faithful caregiver for many years as she has experienced a plethora of health issues including the loss of her leg. In recent years, her number of hospitalizations has grown significantly even as Mark has done everything possible to keep her at home and honor his mother in the best possible way. In fact, he has set such a sacrificial example of love and care that has been an inspiration not only to me but to many others I know. Along that line, it comes as no surprise that the costs of such care are enormous in today's society. While Mark has done his absolute best to be the provider he needed to be, it is nearly impossible to meet every need. That is why I am creating this GoFundMe account to subsidize existing funds and to fully cover expenses for Beverly's funeral and Mark's travel costs in honoring her wishes for burial in her home state of Michigan. Would you prayerfully consider how you might give to support this family during this time? Our goal is 7,000 and I challenge you to consider eclipsing that goal in order to cover unanticipated costs. I know his heart is to create a scholarship in her honor at Rockbridge Seminary in the days ahead as well.
