Please Help Peggy

Peggy is a bit of a fixture on our street, as she's lived here for 16 years. She's the kind of person that keeps an eye on things for everyone and always has something nice to say to you. She'll remember all the little details you tell her and ask you about them the next time you see her; she cares.
On June 3rd, the tenant in the apartment above Peggy was evicted. Before leaving, this person (or someone associated with this person) flooded the apartment and, subsequently, Peggy's. Water ran down her walls and dripped from her ceiling for over an hour. As a result, her apartment, including 16 years of accumulated possessions, was destroyed.
Police and maintenance were contacted, but since this occurred at about 3 AM, it took apartment maintenance a while to arrive to give the police access. Peggy was sleeping and woke up to police banging on her door and her apartment destroyed. She was immediately escorted out and unable to grab any precious possessions (not even shoes). No one was allowed inside since the electricity was still on.
Due to the flood, Peggy has been displaced while the apartment is renovated. She was quoted a ridiculous amount for her furniture to be moved and stored ($15,000-$20,000), and we're not sure this can be avoided as they have to renovate the apartment immediately. She also has to pay for her hotel during this process. Unfortunately, Peggy does not have renters insurance and is responsible for replacing everything that has been destroyed. She is a completely innocent bystander to someone else's very selfish decision.
We feel so thankful to have had Peggy as a neighbor over the past 6 years. She is someone that would never ask for help but would offer help to others without giving it a second thought. We want her to know that her kindness and good heart are appreciated, but we can't do it alone. So please help us help an incredibly good person get back on her feet again. Anything you can spare will help. 100% of donations will be given to Peggy.
