Surgery for Izzy
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hannah I’m raising money to help pay for my cats life saving surgery. 2 weeks ago I came home from work and saw her tail was limp so I took her to the vet to be sure it wasn’t serious. They did a xray and found out her tail was just fine but discovered a large ileocolic mass and we were referred to an Internal Medicine specialist to diagnose it. It is called Gastrointestinal eosinophilic sclerosing fibroplasia. I was then told to find a surgeon to preform the surgery. I reached out to KSTATE last week and they told me they could do it and would get her in April 3rd. Then on Friday March 9th they called and told me I needed to bring her in Monday (today) for further diagnostics before the surgery but they’re most likely going to just keep her and we will do the surgery this week instead. Her diagnosis is so rare that the only study done about it was in 2015 had recorded only a total of 13 cats have had it by that point in time and the prognosis was anywhere from 1 year to 10 years. I was told that we caught it earlier and if we get it removed asap we have a chance to give her hopefully a long life. Izzy is just 5 years old and is my world, I got her at a time in my life where I was struggling and felt very alone and ever since she had been my best-friend and cuddle buddy. I couldn’t imagine my life without her. I debated reaching out for help but I honestly am struggling. I am in nursing school full time and working 2 overnights a week so I don’t make much right now. If anyone is able to donate or even just share and get this out I’d be so grateful. I’m on the way to manhattan as I’m writing this! Wish us luck this morning. Pray for Izzy and a full healthy recovery and a safe procedure. Any funds donated will be used to pay for her surgery and medical bills. Thank you!
Update: They are keeping her. Surgery is tomorrow March 11th. Please pray for Izzy. She is in the ICU due to seizure precautions.
