Help support the fight against breast cancer
Donation protected
My name is Shardane Jones I am 28 years old and I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, which has spread to my Lung, Liver and my bone. In February 2020 I did a double mastectomy along with breast reconstruction plastic surgery. I got discharged around the ending of March.
In May I realized that I began to lose weight rapidly, I began to have loss of appetite, vomiting and shortness of breath. I also had a mild scoliosis which got worse after my reconstruction surgery. I went back to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where I was admitted and sent to do some tests. I did a CT scan which shows that there was fluid around my lung, which was the result of my shortness of breath.
The doctors inserted a chest tube to get rid of the fluid. I was also on oxygen for around three weeks because I was unable to breath properly. A total of 1300ml of fluid was removed from my lung. I got discharged in June and am still home recovering. I am happy to say that I am improving as the days goes by I no longer have shortness of breath
I was unable to walk due to my scoliosis and now I'm able to move around by myself.
I know there’s a lot of people going through what I’m going through right now, but I must say that living with cancer is not the end of the world, I can beat this!!! You can beat this!!! All it takes is just a little moral support, having faith, trust and believe in God. God didn’t give us more than we can handle and he is always there fighting this battle with us
My journey still continues as I had to visit the hospital on a weekly basis for treatment. I am asking kindly for your support to assist with getting a scoliosis back brace, my chemotherapy treatment ,traveling expenses and basic necessities.
Little is much when God is in it.
