Mamie Dewberry Family Care Fund

Dearest Friends and Loved Ones of the Dewberry-Mitchell Family,

Can you imagine having to leave your entire family to travel hundreds of miles from home for Stage 4 Cancer treatment while your only child remains behind with her own diagnosis of Advanced Cancer? This is the UNIMAGINABLE reality facing the Dewberry family.

We are raising funds to help the family travel from New York to Houston to reunite with their precious mother and grandmother, Mamie Dewberry, and to help pay for the inordinate number of expenses associated with their cancer treatments. 

A Time for Faith - The Backstory

We are writing to all of you on behalf of Deanna Dewberry-Mitchell's family and specifically their dear mother, grandmother, Mrs. Mamie Dewberry, who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.  Recently Mother Mamie, a woman of faith, valiantly traveled from Rochester to Houston, TX to receive in-patient treatment at the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center.  This is a trying time for Mother Mamie and her family.  Not only is Mother Mamie battling Pancreatic Cancer, Deanna is simultaneously battling cancer for the fourth time.  Deanna is undergoing breast cancer treatment while also raising her three beautiful children, caring for her father who has dementia and who has recently been hospitalized, and working full time.  In addition to the weight of being apart from one another, the medical costs and financial strains incurred for cancer treatments have added incessant pressures onto the Dewberry-Mitchell family.  Although many might have felt hopeless under such circumstances, the family has faith.

NOTHING is INSURMOUNTABLE!

Mother Mamie dearly misses Deanna, Gary, her grandchildren and her beloved husband, Mr. Dewberry.  They are hundreds of miles away from her in Rochester, NY and Mother Mamie wants and NEEDS to see her loved ones.  With a stage four diagnosis, it is imperative that she is reunited with them VERY SOON!  Being surrounded by family and loved ones will facilitate a therapeutic atmosphere of love, peace, hope and restoration to Mother Mamie and to her entire family.


We Can DEW It!

Flying a family of six from Rochester, NY to Houston, TX to be with their hospitalized loved one is undeniably expensive.  The costs for flights, food, car rental transportation and lodging represent significant expenditures to the Dewberry Family, all at a time when they also have excessive medical expenses.  We are creating this fund because so many of you have asked, "How can I help the Dewberry Family?"  Honestly, what we can DEW is contribute to help cover the costs required so the family of six (Mr. Dewberry, Deanna, Gary, and the three grandchildren) can travel to Houston to spend this precious time with Mother Mamie.  


DEW unto Others

Deanna has always leveraged her gifts and talents in service to others.  She is a 4 time cancer survivor who has served on numerous patient advocacy boards, while working for the betterment of others who have been affected by cancer.  At this time, her mother and family are in need of the support that they have always shown to others.  Our joint efforts can enable them to reunite with one another to strengthen and fortify their family during their very courageous journey.
