A Hand Up For Dodson's IGA

Remember the classic Christmas movie, “It’s A Wonderful Life?”
An Everson family needs their own Frank Capra moment now!
The Dodson family has been a cornerstone of East Whatcom County for over 50 years. They’ve given to the community regularly; now after a devastating theft, they need us to give back.
The Dodsons founded Dodson’s IGA 52 years ago at Nugent’s Corner near Everson. They chose “Where Friends Meet Friends” as the store motto, then lived that motto every day. Vital members of the community, Orran, Mike and Ellen have provided free meals at holidays; volunteered for the County Fire Commission and the Mt Baker School Board; supported 4-H, numerous school events, and the Deming Log Show; and raised funds for the Deming Library and many community events.
Dodson’s IGA has now been crippled by internal theft that insurance will not cover. The store lost over $100,000, which is more than 3 years’ profit. They are trying to work their way back, but it’s a very slow process. They need money to buy inventory, restore their business and increase staff hours. They don’t want to ask for a handout, but they could sure use a hand up.
Please donate to help refill the shelves at Dodson’s IGA so we don’t lose this vital community resource. Also, share your stories of how Dodson’s IGA has helped your family on our Facebook Support Dodson's IGA page and share it with your friends.
Show the Dodson family how much they are loved this holiday season!
