Dog Bite Medical Bills & Physical Therapy Help
Hi, my name is Evan. I was going to breakfast with my kids and heard a woman screaming, looked and saw her being attacked by a pit bull on 6th near Cochran. I had to do something or she would have been torn to death in a gruesome way. I stopped my car, ran to her and pulled the dog off of her while attacking it. The dog in turn attacked me back. We fought for many minutes, he bit the heck out of me while I tried in vain to get him down on the ground and to manage his movements. I thought I was going to lose the fight when I realized that I could no longer move my arms or fingers and my arm was still in his mouth. The pain was horrific.
After screaming repeatedly for help, a few people helped me hold down the dog until the police arrived where I was then able to get off of the dog, move away and collapse on the sidewalk. Both the elderly lady and I were rushed to hospital.
I spent the next 30 hours in the hospital, underwent surgery on both of my forearms, have a broken wrist, major puncture wounds to the bone on my arms, can't move my arms or fingers very well right now and have no use of either arm.
I am facing a long recovery, have my kids helping feed me and taking care of daily life needs but we need help to get by while I heal and help paying for the medical bills that will be rolling in as care goes on.
Never did I think I would start a Go Fund Me, nor did I ever think I would attack a dog but there was no way I could let that lady be ravaged by this dog like she was without helping.
I am asking for your help to get by while I heal. I have three small children to look after and can't use my arms or fingers right now . My wound care takes me about 3 hours per day, is done at home by me with help from my kids. Deep puncture wounds require a certain procedure twice a day.
