Dog Needs Fat Tumor Removed

Meet Atlas. A ten-year-old lab-husky rescue, he's been an adorable, patient and loving member of our family for almost 9 years. A couple years ago, we noticed a lump on his side. When it was checked out, we learned it was just fat, and totally benign.
However, this lump has now grown to a weight of approximately 20 pounds. It is as if Atlas is carrying a small dog around on his side. This affects his ability to walk, move and run like he used to. Atlas can no longer go up stairs, go for walks, or get in the car without serious difficulty. He has trouble even getting up after a nap.
We miss the energetic and playful dog he used to be. Atlas is incredibly loved, and it hurts to see him struggle. Our veterinarian strongly recommends the fat lump be removed as soon as possible as it threatens to shorten his life and make the life he lives currently very hard.
Unfortunately, the procedure for removal will cost around $3,000, an amount that is very hard for us right now given other medical expenses we have had to face this year. We are hopeful to raise these funds within the next four weeks.
We are grateful to anyone who is able to contribute any amount towards this procedure. To be able to afford this surgery for Atlas will mean the world to all of us.
