Dog River Farm flood relief
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Zea and our dear friends farm is experiencing huge losses from the recent flood in Vermont. With heavy rains and flooding they lost nearly all of their crops leaving damaged fields and TONS of clean up. This all happened at the worst possible time of the season, maximum labor input and maximum expenditures as they had just started the harvest year after months of seeding, planting and care.
This is the second 100 year flood in just 12 years and they’re not ready to quit yet! And there’s still time to plant! The farm however is in desperate need of funds to keep up with bills, replanting next year’s strawberry crop and payroll. Dog River farm supports 6 families income, 5 employees spend half the year here working to provide for their families in Jamaica while pouring their efforts into each season. Dog River does so much to provide for our community- donating food to families and gifting food and pumpkins to the local school, hiring local people, holding fun events for families. The farm is constantly expanding and bringing a better way of life for all of us close by- from pick your own strawberries- fresh cut Christmas trees- pick your own pumpkins and amazing local organic produce. We want to see them thrive and continue. Let’s make it happen!
Thanks so much for helping out through this crazy time.
