Buy A Shelter Dog A Bed 4 Christmas
Tax deductible
My name is Hadley Recor, and my friend Caryn Fennell and I have decided to raise funds for the Lifeline Animal Project in Chamblee, Georgia. I have been volunteering there for about six months. Lifeline is a no-kill shelter for dogs, cats, and the occasional pig, horse and chicken. There are about 500 dogs at the shelter at any given time. Mostly what I do is walk the dogs - the staff doesn't have time to make sure every dog gets walked, and they depend on the volunteers to help out. The dogs can literally go weeks without leaving their kennell. The kennells have tile floors which are hard to lay on, especially if it's for hours on end.
Caryn and I are trying to raise enough money to buy 75 dog beds so every kennell at the shelter has a dog bed that the dogs can lay on. The beds are called Karunda Shelter Beds, and cost $69.00 per bed. The reason the shelter uses these types of beds specifically is they are like cots, so they keep the dogs off the floor and out of any messes on the floor, and they are easy to clean.
The dogs at the shelter are truly amazing. They would sincerely appreciate any money you could donate to this cause. Beds are expensive but really needed and that is why we thought a gofundme campaign would work the best, since it would allow people to pool their funds. Even if you can't donate, please share this link in your facebook timeline to spread the word. Thank you so much and have a wonderful holiday season.
