Kota & Hudson: Doggy Plane Crash Survivors

This is Kota and Hudson. Although Kota and Hudson look sweet in these photos, behind their adorable eyes and cuddly fur, there is a mean lean fighting machine, which they get from their mom and dad.

This past Wednesday night, my beloved uncle Jimmy was doing the thing he loved the most, flying a plane, but sometimes the things we love the most come with many risks. Although he tried everything to fix the complications the plane began having midair, he crash landed in the desert. My goofy, brave, and loving uncle did not make it.

However, he was not the only one in the plane. My beautiful Auntie Uta was there too along with their two doggos--Kota and Hudson. My uncle Jimmy did everything in his power to keep them all safe. I am so grateful to say that my BADASS Auntie has made it out of the ICU and had the necessary surgeries for the many fractures and broken bones the landing came with. She is back to telling her jokes over the phone and being the lovely person that she is, in the midst of her tragic loss.

Initially, we thought Kota and Hudson did not make it. We just got news yesterday that Kota has been in 24-hour vet care since the plane crash with a broken pelvis and may need surgery! Kota has been recovering at Red Hills Animal Hospital and Southwest Animal Emergency clinic in St. George, Utah having round the clock vet care, pain injections, x-rays, anti-nausea meds, and blood work. Last night, my Aunt slept with a doggie stuffed animal so that the vets could give her scent to Kota to have during recovery. As for Hudson, although the park rangers did not find the body amidst the crash, we just got news he was found and will be needing many xrays and vet care. He sure must have had an adventure running around in the wilderness.

Although we are grieving my Uncle Jimmy’s death, there are pockets of joy within the sadness. My Aunt is safe and both dogs have been found.

For my Aunt and Uncle, their dogs are their kids. I want her two doggie kiddos to have a safe recovery so they can be there with her every pawprint of the way. Kota and Hudson's medical fees will be very expensive, and I want this to be one less thing my Aunt thinks about in the many long months to come. I’ve created this gofundme to be a gift for my Auntie Uta, Kota and Hudson, and to honor my Uncle Jimmy’s life.

Thank you so much for reading.
