Dogs found in the rubble of Florida retirement community.
Donation protected
I am raising funds for my cousin Victor who lost his grandfather during Hurricane Milton.
Our family is heartbroken over the loss of Alejandro Alonso, who tragically passed away when Hurricane Milton swept through his community. Amid the devastation, we find hope in the survival of his two beloved dogs, Lulu, a 14-year-old Shih Tzu, and Shiba, a Rottweiler. After going missing during the storm, both dogs were miraculously found alive in the wreckage, with Lulu rescued from the rubble of their home by a kind neighbor, with the help of a CBS News crew. Their survival is a small ray of light in this otherwise dark time.
We are raising funds to cover the continued care of Lulu and Shiba. Lulu, who was shaken up, is receiving necessary veterinary care, while Shiba, who was presumed lost, was later discovered and reunited with us. These dogs were everything to Alejandro, and we are committed to providing them with the love, medical attention, and safe home they need as they recover from this traumatic event.
In this difficult time, we are so grateful for any support. Your donations will help us navigate this great loss and assure Alejandro’s loyal companions are well cared for.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity as we find a way to move forward with this heartbreaking loss and honor Alex’s memory.
Lulu and Shiba have been placed in the loving care of Alejandro’s grandson, Victor. With the support of the family and the viewers of this story we believe we will make it through this, one day at a time.
