Doing Crazy Things for Education
Tax deductible

Every year I try to find a challenge that tests me - whether it is running my first marathon or riding my bike up Mt. Washington.
This year, I’m planning on doing something different. There were three challenges that I was looking at doing - and I couldn’t figure out which one I wanted to do. So … I guess I will just do all three.
I ran this by my sister and she laughed at me. Deservedly so. Then she gave me some ideas on aligning this with a charitable endeavor that I could use to make this level of insanity worthwhile.
I am going to raise money for ‘Adopt a Classroom’ - an organization which advances equity in education by powering today's classrooms to prepare tomorrow's graduates. I chose this charity as a way to also remember my Dad (who would also be laughing at me) - given his long career and passion for eduction.
Oh - and the challenges and tentative dates are (weather, family commitments and natural disasters pending):
4/4 - Sufferfest Knights of Sufferlandia challenge - 10 back to back indoor cycling workouts (approximately 10 hours with 10 minute breaks).
4/30-5/2 - The Goggins Challenge - David Goggins (author of ‘Can’t Hurt Me) and former SEAL - has laid out a run of 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours.
6/12 - Everesting. Yes, as in Mt. Everest. As in riding a bike up and down the same hill until you exceed the height of Mt. Everest - 29,032 feet (8,849m). Yes, even I think this is nuts.
Please consider making a donation. Somewhere, my dad is laughing at me - make it worthwhile.
