Root-Pike WIN Challenge

Greetings!
We are reaching out to you as a friend of Root-Pike WIN. Root-Pike Watershed Initiative Network, now 15 years old, is improving our Southeastern Wisconsin watersheds in many ways, and is in need of your help.
We are an awarded leader among watershed non-profits in the state of Wisconsin. Root-Pike WIN has accomplished watershed improvements by building rain gardens, creating the Respect Our Waters media outreach campaign reaching an estimated 1.6 million people, providing grants to do watershed improvements, providing rain barrels, and facilitating the first EPA approved watershed management plan in the state of Wisconsin on the Pike River. In additon to this, Root-Pike is finalizing the Root River Plan and is in the final stages of the Windpoint Watershed Plan (first coastal drainage watershed plan in the state). These plans are more than documents they are blueprints for the future of our communities. They set a course for a progression toward a restored watershed while improving water quality, habitat, and quality of life.
If you enjoy fishing, walking along a shoreline, swimming at Racine's award winning beaches, or passing these traditions on to future generations you can, in part, thank Root-Pike WIN. This type of impact does not happen without sustained effort given by Root-Pike WIN and its staff member and we need your help now more than ever.
The grants and funding received for these programs are substantial; however, the organization's operational expenses are not covered in full by these grants. At this time, Root-Pike WIN needs undesignated operational expense contributions to continue to run the organization.
Please consider donating to this worthy cause and also share this post with your Facebook friends. You can donate through the links provided here. The board is challenging its members and friends to raise $2,000 by December 31, and if successful the 9-member board will make a special gift of $1,000. As of 12/29 we are at $1,522 and need just a little more help to get us there. We have set this page up for friends to help us reach that mark. Thank you!
