As some of already know, our family was recently given some very devastating news. In December 2022, my mom and I traveled back to our hometown of Indiana to visit with our family. My youngest brother and his wife were unable to visit because she had not been feeling well and didn’t want to transmit anything to us. Unfortunately, we left without being able to visit. Upon returning home we were told that Heather continued not to feel well and had been struggling with some pretty excruciating headaches. Around the second week of January 2023 the headaches became so unbearable that my brother had to take her to the emergency room. This is where Heather and David received a life changing diagnosis that they would have never imagined. Heather was told that she had 2.5 cm mass on the right side of her brain. The doctors immediately placed her on steroids for the swelling and anti-seizure medication as a preventative and scheduled brain surgery to biopsy and remove up to 78% of the mass. On Jan 25th the surgical team successfully removed 90%. However, after a consultation with the oncologist they were given more news that will now start them on a very different journey. The results of the biopsy indicated that she has a, high grade, glioblastoma. Heather will have to undergo intense radiation and chemotherapy Monday thru Friday for six weeks. With this new routine of treatments, neither David or Heather will be able to work. Married for 18 years, they have worked very hard. David as a heating and air supervisor and Heather as a dental hygienist. They have provided a very loving stable home and foundation for themselves and their 3 beautiful children…Chloe 13, Clayton, 10 and Charlie who is almost 2. As we are well aware, just the simple cost of living is difficult but now they are facing outrageous medical costs as well. David and Heather are very humble and would never ask for help for themselves. This unimaginable journey will be a struggle and that is why I a reaching out to you. P.S. I was recently informed that David was able to go back to work on Monday due to Heathers mom being able to take Heather to her appointments! David and Heather will still need our support as they will be losing half of their income! All donations are greatly appreciated!
