Domestic Assault Family

A friend of mine, Lara Gavaldon, was a victim of domestic assault which resulted in life-threatening injuries. She was taken to the local hospital and airlifted to a hospital downstate due to the severity of her injuries. Due to the ongoing investigation, I cannot share any additional details at this time. She is now home and recovering with her two children (Henry, 9 years and Teddy, 9 months). Her children were unharmed. Prior to this, Lara was an active member of our community and even a physician assistant in family medicine, caring for others. Due to her current condition physically and emotionally, she is unable to work at this time and has several surgeries in the near future. She will likely lose vision from one eye, but luckily the other eye was spared. At this time, Lara is focusing on healing, recovering physically and emotionally, caring for her children, and trying to figure out her new normal. Due to her situation, she is facing several financial hardships, from losing her spouse's income, part of her income as she is unable to work at this time, to legal fees, all the while, the bills do not stop. She has spent most of the last few years caring for others, and I hope we can rally together and support her financially. Please donate anything you can and share with others to help this family during this very difficult time.
