Domestic violence resulting in arson
Donation protected
At 630 this morning my sister Wanda Turner Swanson called me and advised Shane Wallace had broken into her home and was taking ceiling tiles out and burning them, touching them to the wall, and was threatening to burn the house down. I called 911 and dispatched them to her location. She was able to get out unharmed but Shane remained in the home.
In the last 2 years, pickens county 911 has been called out 14 times over a domestic violence and would stay on scene for approximately an hour and would leave. No charges ever filed. August of 2022 Shane Wallace broke into a rental cabin where my sister was and held a gun to a minors head in gordon county. Pickens county was notified where he was, and they would not pick him up.
He knew he had pending charges and fled to Colorado but was still adamant he would be back to burn the house with my sister inside.
Today was that day.
Officers arrived on scene around 7 am and was trying to talk him out of the home. They called back up Cherokee county , CID, and SWAT.
While interrogation with my sister was happening they advised they needed a search warrant and during this time he was able to make a gas bomb.
Officers launched many flash bombs and as they were obtaining him he threw the bomb at a SWAT team member hitting him in the head, and also starting the fire which ultimately brought the house down.
My sister lost everything except for what she escaped in and her phone. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
