Dominic Mancini Fishing For A Cure

Hello my name is Ashley Hughes and I am fundraising for my father in law Dominic Mancini as he is battling not 1, not 2 but 3 cancers Lung, Brain & Pancreatic. Dom is an avid fishmen, ridiculously talented musician, amazing husband, step dad, poppop, and friend to anyone he knows or hasn't met yet. And if you know him, you'd know how difficult it was getting him to agree to this.

On December 1st 2021 , his birthday, Dom was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung cancer. Doctors were aggressive and began treatment on February 7th 2022, his wife/ my mother in law Marion's birthday. During this time Dom had to stop working leaving a lot of their medical financial burdens to arise. May 7th his treatments had come to an end bit that wasn't the last of it. July 1st Dom under went surgery to remover the cancer and part of his lung. He has a long road of healing and getting some much needed rest and puttong weight back on , due to the long, weakening, and tiresome radiation and chemo therapy treatments.

Things were looking up Dom was able to take bike rides, get back to his other loves of playing the bass ( around the house) & of course fishing. However we were quickly brought down from the high point.

On October 6th Marion had taken Dom to the hospital to be checked out because something was off. Doctors had ran tests and it had discovered a large mass on his brain. At that point a call to his oncologist was made and up we went to Our Lady of Lourdes an hour away from their home. After arriving the staff went straight to doing more test and confirmed that there was in fact a tumor on Dom's brain approximately 2x3" in size and putting extreme amount of pressure on his skull. October 10th brain surgery occurred. Now bear in mind that this was a 2 hour total drive every day until he came home on October 12th.

While at the hospital tests, tests, and more tests were done. A spot was found on his "good lung", lesions on his liver, and a mass on his pancreas.

Dom has had to go to multiple doctors Oncologist, Radiologist, Pulmonalogist, family dr, physical therapist and medications.

He is not out of the woods yet and we are right by his side to help from the many siblings, kids, grandkids, neices, nephews, family and friends.
