Hello Friends,

My name is Michael, a longtime friend and neighbor of Don W. Bowen, Jr.

Don was involved in a horrible traffic accident on Monday, January 16th. He was driving with passengers Mendy Haile and his son, Donny W. Bowen, III.

I don’t have many details to share about the accident, but I do know it involved the winter storm we had and black ice which led to a head on collision.

Don was well known and well liked for doing many things on this mountain. We are all familiar with the Wood Ranch, that he owned and ran, that sits above the road in Lake of the Woods.

We lost Don on Monday; his son is, last I heard, still in the hospital, while Mendy is at home recovering from her injuries and trying to make sense of all this.

Donations made here will be used to cover funeral arrangements, and if there is any left over, to help with medical expenses and any other costs that may arise.

We lost a good man and, in my opinion, a pillar of the community on this mountain. He will be missed.
