Don Caron

I am Donny's little sister, Cheri.
There are 5 of us Caron siblings and we fight like M****** F*****'s. We never give up.
In February, Don had a seizure at work and was rushed to the hospital to find he had brain cancer and a spot on his lung. Don was determined to beat it and his spirit never wavered. He said 'I have people who need me to fight for and I will never give up.' He fought so hard for the people around him. Every time he was in the hospital he couldn't wait to get back home to his wife Debi, his son Chris and his dog Bar (Bear in German). I never knew someone so determined to go back to work. There was never any doubt in his mind that he would be back to see all his friends that he made there over the years and he was anticipating his return.
Don's favorite pastime was fishing, and frankly, it was hard to find a picture of him when he is not holding a fish. If he had a rod in his hand and his dog at his side, he was content.
If you knew Don, it was rare he was ever sick, but cancer is relentless. He went through 5 months of treatments, spent time in 5 different hospitals and battled so hard. He said he had been in so many hospitals that he should be a secret shopper for each hospital's food and the wonderful nurses. His sense of humor never once disappeared. He was beating cancer. We all had high hopes.
Don knew two things for sure - one, quitting was never an option and two, that he was loved by many.
Don's battle ended Saturday, July 22nd after yet another surgery. His body gave out, not his spirit. We are certain he has already found the best fishing hole in heaven and is reeling in some whoppers with his familiar smile.
