Don Doyle Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Don Doyle passed away December 31, 2020, at Olathe Medical Center from complications of Covid-19. Don had no prior health conditions. Don was 54 years old and leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Tawny, and only son Dalton. Dalton is 21 and is attending Eastern Illinois University where he is on an academic and baseball scholarship.
Dalton and his parents had laid out a plan for his college career. Dalton started college at Jefferson County Junior College in St. Louis where he played baseball on scholarship. He then was awarded a baseball scholarship to Eastern Illinois University to finish his last 2 years of college. Due to Covid-19 last spring, he was awarded an extra year of eligibility. All of Daltons college has been paid for through academic and baseball scholarships. He will be able to complete his degree in finance and start his MBA over the next 2 years. This summer Dalton has already registered to play in the North Woods Summer League out of Milwaukee.
The money for this GoFundMe/Don Doyle Memorial will go to help Dalton with expenses that will allow him to finish the plan he and his dad had laid out. Don was very passionate about making sure Dalton had what he needed to play baseball while still earning a quality education. Don and Tawny have done whatever it takes to make sure Dalton can focus on baseball and school. He doesn't require a lot of extra money, but being a college athlete and focusing on his education leaves no time for work. He has already been trying to figure out how he will continue with this plan and felt he may have to forego summer ball so he can work and make some money. I begged him to wait and not make this decision right now. I advised him that God has a way of working things out. His dad would not want him to change his plan, neither does his mom. Many of you have been asking what can we do, how can we help? Not only would this help Dalton in finishing his degree and start graduate school, but also finish out his college baseball dream. This will also help Tawny knowing Dalton has money for food, gas, etc. and will allow her to focus on adjusting to a single income.
In lieu of flowers, or as an additional way to help the family, we are requesting funds to help Dalton as he finishes his next couple of years of college. I know all of us have very special memories of Don and are devastated by his passing. Nothing you could do for Don would be better served then giving to help Dalton right now. As you know, Dalton was Don's pride and joy.![](https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/53671484_1609625358624610_r.jpeg)
