My father-in-law Don

My sweet father-in-law has been getting progressively sicker since Mid-October 2021, having trouble breathing, losing weight, and becoming very weak.

Mid-December, after a work-up by his doctor, they discovered he had Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

In January 2022, he started chemo. Unfortunately, due to being immunocompromised (not having any immune fighting cells), he contracted Covid. He was hospitalized for a week. On discharge, he looked and felt better than he had in months. He was eating better and more active. He was even able to go to a family dinner and play cards for a short while.

A week after the second chemo, he developed a fever and had to return to the hospital. Once again, due to the chemo, he had ZERO white cells to fight infection. He was diagnosed with severe pneumonia affecting both lungs. During the first 24 hours in the hospital, he became shorter of breath and was transferred to the ICU where he remains today, over a week later, struggling to breathe.

Between mounting medical bills and my mother-in-law being unable to work when he is very ill, they are in a challenging position financially.
