Our family needs your help. Don Westerlund, our dad suffered a traumatic brain injury on April 7th. While it is extremely hard to reach out for help knowing our dads personality (The Giver, never one to ask for anything) we are raising funds on his behalf to help with his current medical expenses, ongoing medical needs, and unforeseen expenses.
Our dad is in currently in the middle of moving from North Bend back to Snoqualmie where he was born and raised. During his move he had an accident, he fell and hit his head on the concrete floor in the garage while trying to pack things from a high shelf. Dad was then found, unconscious, by his wife, who called 911 for help. At that point first responders checked him over and everything seemed fine. However, two days later, his health took a scary turn and he was again found unconscious. 911 was called, yet again, but this time he was rushed to the ER at Overlake. Once there he was immediately taken to the OR for Brain Surgery, a Craniotomy due to severe brain swelling and a subdural hematoma. He is currently still unconscious and being monitored and cared for in the ICU.
Due to pandemic, and hospital policy no one is allowed to visit him in the ICU. This is extremely painful, the nurses are in contact with our family and are giving us daily updates. Miracles do happen, and your prayers and words of support help more than you could possibly know. Our Dad is a strong man, our families rock, and we are holding strong in faith and confident about his recovery! That being said it has been repeated to us several times by medical staff that this will be a very long road to recovery for him.
Please continue to pray for him every single day through this long journey. He needs all the support we can send his way to fight through this.
