DONALD BLACKWELL
Donation protected
Don was experiencing bouts of vision loss and ear pain for several weeks. On January 24th Don went to his doctor and was told to head to the hospital for a CT scan. He was told he had a brain tumor and was admitted for testing. His family had him transferred to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital for further diagnosis and treatment. After many tests and consultations Don was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and lung cancer. He remained at UPenn for more than a week. Now Don gets to go home and begin the fight. The tumor in his brain is in a location that surgery is too risky. His tumor can be reduced but not destroyed. The different options will be discussed in the next few weeks. Don and his family have a very hard and long fight ahead of them. So Don will need continued treatment and observation. Don's prognosis all depends on how his tumor handles the treatments. The loss of work (Don is a self-employed electrician) and although fortunate enough to have insurance, it will not cover certain things as well as travel for treatments. Therefore his family and friends have set up this page to help Don so he can concentrate on his treatment and not worry too much about the costs. We thank you as you continue to support his family at this very difficult time. Both Don, Evelyn and their sons truly appreciate the love and support of everyone.
