Donald Brock health financial support
Donation protected
Donald Brock is in critical care (ICU) at the Swedish Hospital for the whole month of February. He had several heart attacks which impaired his kidneys. He is struggling with his breathing due to COVID. As of now, his body is fighting to live.
Throughout his life, he helped people to accomplish their needs. He sacrificed his life by putting other people first before his own. Don has a good heart showing a lot of compassion and sympathy, a great leadership to guide people in thriving in their lives. Now it is our turn to help him to heal his health and maintain his financial hardship.
Donald and I are Deaf gentlemen who live healthy and happy life in achieving our dreams. We love to socialize laughing out loud with our friends and families. We believe that by reuniting with our families and friends and sharing our relationships, we make a difference in the quality of our lifestyles. Since Donald is suffering from a serious illness with pneumonia, a damaged heart, and renal damage. Those illnesses are merciless and bring greater misfortune to himself, his friends, and his family. This long health battle had caused Donald to be behind with his debts.
Donald Brock has been supporting his mother and aunt who are senior citizens living on low government wages. Donald works hard earning a small amount of income as an employee at the Holiday Inn in Lakewood. With all of those obstacles, Donald Brock is fighting poverty with a miserable life-and-death crisis. He nearly lost his life at the Centura St. Anthony Hospital on February 2, 2023. After seven days of staying in a hospital, he was able to go home. However, three days later, Donald's heart collapsed again with COVID. This time more damage to his health. Since February 11, Donald has remained at the Swedish Medical Center hospital fighting for his life. His heart was severely weak with badly infected lungs and then his kidneys collapsed. Now, his health is very serious. All of us are heartbroken to announce that Donald’s health is getting worse and he will remain in the hospital longer. If Donald Brock did not have insurance, the ICU intensive care unit and drug medical bills would be very high. This is the reason why we are setting up GoFundMe.com to cover the cost of medical expenses. This is a difficult time for all of us. We need to help and comfort each other with love and prayers. We desperately need your help and your benevolence will help us and our families. Thank you for reading this message and for your donation.
On February 12th through February 28th, I experienced sleepiness for a few weeks, weakness in my body, inability to consume food or drinks, and difficulty with American Sign Language (ASL). Additionally, I had many dreams during this period of sleepiness, but I couldn't remember them clearly or if my friends visited me in the hospital. I wasn't aware that I required kidney dialysis since February 14th, 2023, and I am still undergoing it.
On February 28th, I fully woke up, regained my ability to use ASL, and had some ice to quench my thirst. However, my body remained weak, and I couldn't walk for long periods. I needed to take my time to gradually regain functionality.
A few weeks later, from February 28th, I began receiving therapy and took short walks in the room, gradually building my muscles since I was weak due to insufficient protein in my body. On March 21st, 2023, I requested a cardiology update for my heart. Thank you for taking a few pictures, Gonji Skyfire. The pictures are included below. The results were positive, with my heart functioning at 40% to 45%. I continued with therapy to increase my mobility.
On March 27th, 2023, my tracheostomy was removed from my neck. The next day, I underwent speech therapy to assess my ability to eat and drink. Fortunately, I passed the assessment and was able to have my first meal. I can't believe I went without eating and drinking for a month and a half. On March 30th, 2023, I moved from the ICU room to the therapy room.
From April 1st to 11th, 2023, kidney dialysis continued, and I had additional physical therapy and outpatient visits, resulting in increased workout activities for three sessions per day, five days a week. Between April 9th and 12th, 2023, my kidneys showed improvement, and I no longer needed dialysis for a few days.
On April 12th, 2023, I was released and allowed to go home in the evening. I stayed home and rested.
Looking ahead, my future plans involve attending visits to the Denver Heart Office, Kidneys Office, and my primary doctor. I need to follow up and keep track of my kidney and heart health. Additionally, I must remain consistent with taking my medications and continue exercising to keep my body moving and maintain a healthy heart rate. As a result of not being able to engage in physical activity for two months, I have accrued some debt related to my heart and kidney appointments.
The doctor provided me with a note allowing part-time work with limitations for the observation period from May 17th to June 30th, 2020. I started working on June 1st, 2023. It's a part-time position, 16 hours per week, totaling 64 hours per month. However, it's still not enough to cover my expenses for the heart, kidneys, and primary doctor.
Right now, my heart rate is functioning at 34%, as of Monday, June 12th, 2023. Xiao and I visited the Denver Heart Office for a consultation.
We need to support and comfort each other with love and prayers. We are in desperate need of your help, and your generosity will assist us and our families. Thank you for taking the time to read this message and for your donation. We appreciate your consideration and support regarding my financial situation.
