Donald Paul Cavoli III Medical & Memorial Fund

Donald Cavoli III -- loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, partner, friend -- suffered life-threatening injuries on October 1, 2023. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will go a long way to relieve Donald and his family from mounting medical costs associated with his care.
10/3 UPDATE: First to say that the outpouring of love and support for Donald, his mom Connie, father Don, sisters Allison, Brooke, & Sierra, nieces Marcella & Lilly, and girlfriend Megan has been truly heartwarming. It has meant *so* much to the family to know there are so many rooting for Donald. Please continue to send healing thoughts and keep Donald and his loved ones in your prayers.
I know many are curious to learn more about Donald's accident and receive updates on his condition. In short, Donald was struck by a passenger van while walking along the side of the road on Sunday 10/1. Amazingly, both the police officer and EMT who arrived on the scene knew Donald from attending the same gym that Donald worked and trained in. When they arrived, Donald's heart had already stopped and they worked for some time to get it beating again. Donald was taken to a local hospital where it was determined that he had suffered severe cervical and spinal injuries and a decision was made to airlift him to Grand Strand Medical Center where he could receive more specialized care and support.
It was learned early on that, in addition to the spinal injuries, Donald has suffered significant damage to his brain due to the extended period without blood flow and oxygen. Donald remains unresponsive and is being supported by a breathing tube at this point. Today, his medical team has reduced the dosage of pain meds in an effort to better detect any brain activity.
In addition to your prayers and healing thoughts which will continue to be invaluable to Donald and his family, your financial contributions to offset the staggering costs associated with Donald's intensive care are appreciated more than you will ever know.
