Brylee’s Emergency Surgery Fund

Hi, I'm Rebecca and I'm raising funds for my 16 month old Labrador pup, Brylee. Anyone that knows about Labrador’s also knows that they put EVERYTHING in their mouth. As a Lab parent, I stay vigilant and make sure that she doesn’t pick up something that would make her sick. I purchased a toy that is marketed as a durable plush toy “made from multiple bonded layers of FDA-approved, non-toxic, food grade materials that are safer, more durable, and longer-lasting than many other plush toys”. I bought this toy so her and I could play with it while she recovered from her spay surgery. She had the toy less than a week before she was able to start pulling it apart. I threw away the pieces she pulled off and took the toy away from her. She was never left alone with the toy. At some point during our play time, she had ingested a piece of that same toy and it created a block in her stomach to her intestines. She had emergency surgery to remove the “foreign object” and is in recovery. This type of surgery is very expensive.

Part of pet ownership is expecting the unexpected. Families are often faced with a decision of letting their furbaby go due to the unexpected. We have all been there. We make adjustments to make sure they get the best care possible. Brylee is blessed to have been in the best hands to safe her life. If this saves another dog’s life by reading about Brylee’s journey it would lessen the sting.

Asking for help is not something that I am I comfortable doing. If her story saves your baby’s life just by removing certain toys from their toy box, that is priceless. If you are willing, and able, to help with the expense of her surgery, her mommy would be overjoyed and appreciative.
