Donate for Karen Ashley-McCoy's Medical Needs

I’m Kali Williamson, I’m starting this gofund me for my mom, Karen Ashley-McCoy. Usually we wouldn’t post anything like this but we could use all the help we can get. All funds received will go towards medical bills, remodeling the house, physical therapy, etc. All to help mom recover and adjust to her new life. 

My mom had been battling Covid for a week and got a steroid shot that really spiked everything from there. Mom’s been in the hospital since Saturday, 3/29. They admitted her to the ICU. She’s been through a lot in such a short period of time, her blood sugar and heart rate were extremely high coming in. Mom ended up having blood clots in her right leg which the doctors tried surgery to save her leg but unfortunately moms leg had gone too long without a pulse and blood circulation which resulted in mom needing an amputation above the knee on Monday 3/31. As of Wednesday, 4/2, mom slowly started waking up and being alert to her environment, family and nurses. Her vitals are improving.

At this time, mom’s still in the ICU and still battling Covid as well as adjusting to everything she’s just been through. 

Mom is still recovering and has a long road of recovery ahead of her. Things are looking up and improving. Although there’s still so much unanswered at this time.

Please understand that this is very personal and difficult to share as we are all adjusting to everything going on. It all happened so fast and it’s crazy that it all started with Covid. Mom is very strong and I know she’ll make a full recovery, just going to take some time. 

Anything is greatly appreciated and means a lot to us. We want mom to be able to come home and be comfortable and make things easier for her to get around. My stepdad will have to return to work soon, which means I will need to be at home with her more until she makes a full recovery.
