Donate for Remington's MRI and Surgery
Donation protected
I think anyone who knows me knows that my animals are well cared for and very loved. Remington is my oldest dog. She's 8 years old. She was Amelia, my 13-year-old daughter's, 5th birthday present.
About a month ago, Remi started experiencing pain and coordination issues with walking. The three different vets that have seen her think she has IVDD. IVDD is common in brachycephalic breeds such as Boston Terriers. IVDD is basically a bulging disc in the spine. 50% of dogs will recover with medical management with steroids and pain medicines. Remi has been weaned off her steroids and still has pain and difficulty walking.
The next step of care would be to get an MRI for a definitive diagnosis and possible surgical plan. The problem is that an MRI for a dog costs around $2,000-3,000. After the MRI, if it's deemed necessary to do surgery, that is another $7,000-8,000. I love my dogs just like they are family but unfortunately, I can't afford $10,000. Many of my friends who know I love my dogs asked me to start a GoFundMe. I feel funny doing so, but I also love my dog and want her to have the best chances of getting this corrected.
