My names Kelli Ladd and I am creating this gofundme on behalf of my beautiful sister, Samantha Grant. Sami is an extremely hard working, loving mother of three - plus a bonus one to love.
Only so many details can be shared at this time. Sami was in what was referenced as a major vehicle crash. Both occupants were ejected. Sami was medflighted. She is in amazing hands and I have faith there’s a road to recovery but it’s going to be an extremely long road.
Up to this point she’s waited to be stable to have her first surgery. Which was successful and she is now resting and being monitored. Once I can share more, I certainly will.
Sami has never been one to ask for help. But this situation calls for a village. Sami needs support. I am mentally claiming her recovery which quickly leads me ‘what’s next?!’. I can’t help but to consider how hard this is going to be for the family. For us all who support her as well.
While I consider the many overwhelming factors and tackle one at a time. The obvious financial burden of her being out of work for more than an extended period of time - is screaming within the list of priorities. She is all of the children’s primary care giver. While she is not going to be able to do this while recovering - this gofundme will help the family support the kids.
Information of her accident is getting out. Because of that I am coming out to request prayers and donations if at all possible. A share would help tremendously too!! Please pray for her successful surgeries, and recovery. If you can donate, please do. It would mean the world to her family and mine.
My biggest wish is to have her life stay afloat while she fights, recovers, and then attempts to resume her life. I don’t even know realistically what to ask for so I’m just starting here. I thank every single person who sends a prayer, donation or a share for this gofundme.
Thank you so much
Update 1/26: Sami is breathing on her own. She made it through her two big surgeries to fix her pelvic/hip and then her femur. They’ve given her the last few days to rest and be monitored. She is still not awake but sedated less, mumbling and moaning significant words. She wants to so desperately get home to her kids. Please keep praying, sharing her story, and donating if you can. It’s too early to gauge the road to recovery but I mentally am thinking at least a year and the Dr told me I’m probably not too far off.
Update 1/30: Today marks 1 week. Samantha is ‘improving by the hour not even the day’ per one of the drs. She’s out of ICU and onto another floor. That small sentence holds a lot of weight. Yesterday she did have both eyes open. She’s not really awake and certainly not coherent, but the progress is unreal. Sedated mid to late day for a minor procedure. Please keep praying!
