Hello,
Our beloved Eric Klopp recently passed unexpectedly on Septemper 9th 2023. Eric was not just a colleague; he was a loving son, husband, father, and a dear friend who left an indelible mark on our lives. His legacy extends far beyond his professional achievements, touching every heart he encountered.

Eric is survived by his cherished wife and daughter, whom he loved deeply and shared countless memorable moments with. He had a special bond with his daughter, often taking her to concerts and bookstores, nurturing their shared passion for music, and ensuring her iTunes account was always filled with her favorite tunes. Additionally, he regularly visited his mother in Wisconsin, and they enjoyed several trips to Lofland together. Eric had a fondness for both good old-fashioned country tunes and the vibrant sounds of the 80s music scene.

Eric was the epitome of dedication and hard work. His unwavering commitment to his roles as an electrician at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory set a shining example for all of us. It was a testament to his character as a reliable and dedicated worker, traits that earned him the respect and admiration of his peers.

Before his career as an electrician, Eric served his country with honor and courage as a veteran of the US Navy. His service not only reflected his sense of duty but also his noble character, embodying values that he carried with him throughout his life.

Eric was more than just a co-worker; he was a good friend who offered unwavering support and a listening ear when needed. His kind, courteous, and friendly presence in our lives brightened our days. His passion for the Green Bay Packers, a team he ardently supported, brought joy to our workplace, and his sportsmanship mirrored the friendly and supportive nature that defined his personality.

His nobility of character shone through in all aspects of his life. He was always quick to lend a helping hand, offering guidance and support to those in need. Eric was a mentor to many, sharing his wisdom and experiences generously, making him an invaluable presence in our professional journeys.

As a member of the IBEW 595 Electrical Union, Eric was not only a part of our team but a crucial pillar of our community. His involvement in the union underscored his commitment to collective progress and the well-being of his fellow workers.

Today, as we reflect on the life of Eric Klopp, we remember not only the exceptional electrician he was but also the remarkable person who touched our hearts with his kindness, integrity, and generosity as a good friend. He leaves behind a legacy that serves as an enduring source of inspiration for all of us.

In his memory, let us strive to emulate his virtues and carry forward the spirit of camaraderie, dedication, and kindness that he so beautifully exemplified. We humbly seek financial assistance to cover necessary expenses.

Rest in peace, dear Eric Klopp. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Sincerely,

Your LBNL Family
