Please Donate for Wayanad Land Slide Disaster Relief

As we all know, our home state of Kerala is currently facing a dire situation due to a catastrophic natural calamity. This disaster has claimed hundreds of lives and shattered the dreams and hopes of many in the picturesque villages of Wayanad. The full magnitude of this incident is still being assessed. According to reports as of August 5, approximately 390 people have lost their lives, with hundreds of people still missing. Thousands of people have lost their homes, properties, and everything they owned.

During this devastating time, Malayalee Cultural Association of Calgary (MCAC) is committed to standing with our homeland and supporting those who have lost their dreams in this tragic event. We have initiated this fundraiser to help a few families in rebuilding their lives. We humbly request your support for this cause. Your generous contribution, regardless of the amount, will make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by this disaster. All funds from this GoFundMe fundraiser will be used to help families in need in the affected areas.

To rebuild lives, MCAC is partnering with Save A Family Plan Canada (SAFP Canada). SAFP Canada is a registered Canadian Charitable organization that has been working in various parts of India for nearly 60 years. SAFP has a proven track record of delivering such services in various parts of India. SAFP Canada will accept the funds and transfer them to the SAFP India team, which will manage the implementation and monitoring of rehabilitation activities, such as repairing and constructing houses, employment initiatives, and ensuring access to clean water. Tax receipts will be provided to donors once the funds and donor list are submitted to SAFP Canada.

Our community, known for its strength and resilience, is now at a crucial juncture. Your support is not just important; it's indispensable in our journey to recover from this devastation.
