Donate in memory of Billy Akavak

On December 27th, 2024, Billy Akavak passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Ottawa, Ontario. Billy was an extraordinary brother, friend, and uncle (Babill) to many. He lived life to the fullest, spending time with his friends and family whenever he could and was always available for anyone visiting from his hometown of Kimmirut, Nunavut. He was a proud Inuk who was passionate about sharing his knowledge of Inuit culture. His family is forever grateful and comforted by the outpouring of love from the people whose lives he touched throughout his life in Nunavut and Ottawa.

Our family is currently raising funds to bring Billy to his final resting place, his beloved hometown of Kimmirut. While funding for some flight costs may be provided, there are additional expenses from the Funeral Home for preparation and transfer services, totaling approximately $6800, we have also added in extra for atleast one airline ticket from Ottawa to Kimmirut which totals GoFundMe goal.
