On March 13, 2024, the unimaginable happened when we lost our dear husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Chuck Bing. Chuck passed away from a very sudden and unexpected illness at the young age of 46. His passing has sent shockwaves through the communities in which he was active and has forever changed the lives of his loving wife Carly and their three incredible children, Charlotte (12), Sophia (10) and Weston (8).
Chuck lived his life to the fullest and even if you met him just once, you knew he was one of a kind. When remembering Chuck, the comments from friends had a common thread: he held us together, he made us better. Chuck was full of happiness and joy for all things. Everything was brighter, better and more fun when Chuck was there. His smile was infectious, and he always had an uplifting spirit that all who came into contact with him have felt.
Charlotte, Sophia and Weston shared the best of their lives with their dad. When Chuck wasn’t at a gymnastics competition cheering loudly enough to embarrass Charlotte and Sophia, he was at a baseball diamond or a hockey rink coaching Weston and creating lifelong memories for his kids. Chuck lived for his children and for his family and friends. The void that this has created for them is the main purpose of creating this GoFundMe Campaign.
Carly’s life was knocked upside down and she went from busily keeping up with three exceptional child-athletes to being a sole parent juggling the family’s grief and their new reality without their dad. All of the help given to date has been greatly appreciated by the family and now we turn our attention to helping them navigate the new financial reality that they will face in the coming years.
Our hearts have been shattered into a million pieces and as we slowly pick up the pieces one by one, we honour Chuck’s memory and the legacy he has left behind. We are setting up a GoFundMe so that Carly, Charlotte, Sophia and Weston feel the strength of a community rally behind them during this difficult time. A gift from you will mean that Carly can focus on what matters, that Charlotte and Sophia can continue spending 20 hours a week at their happy place (TRYumph Gymnastics) and that Weston can continue his dream of being simultaneously the best ever hockey and baseball player. Their ability to navigate this great sadness has been by continuing their activities seamlessly and we hope that this campaign will allow everyone to assist them in finding the solace that they will require both in the near future and in the long term.
The impact of your generosity is immeasurable – so thank you a million times. The funds will be paid into the Bing Family Trust and will be managed by Carly for her family.
