Dr. Mora, a dedicated Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, passed away at the age of 47 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a shining light in the field of education, inspiring students, families, and staff with her passion and commitment. Dr. Mora's journey from being an English learner to achieving multiple degrees exemplifies her determination to help others succeed. She played a vital role in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, overseeing educational programming, curriculum development, and instructional strategies. Her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic ensured that students in the district did not suffer significant learning loss. Prior to joining SMMUSD, Dr. Mora served in various educational roles, including director, principal, and teacher, making a lasting impact on the lives of many.
