Hi, I am Alexa, Edric’s sister. On Friday, March 29, 2024, Edric passed away after a long battle against various health issues. Though he had been sick for months, his passing was a surprise to all of us, given his stable condition for a couple of months prior. He’s always been a fighter and his months-long battle showed constant resilience. He fought so hard and we’re so proud of him.
Edric was intelligent, funny, and wonderfully and creatively mischievous. He had a great smile, an infectious laugh and was well-loved by everyone he met. He was an incredible son and the best brother. He loved food (notably cookies) and would sneak into everyone’s snack drawers. He loved cars, trains, and road trips, and even while sick, he got excited about ambulance rides. He loved going on walks and exploring the parks across Toronto. He loved swimming and water and I’m grateful for the countless afternoons we spent swimming together as kids. He loved Disney, Dreamworks, and Despicable Me and I’m grateful for all the times we watched movies together as kids to rewatching Cars in the hospital together. He was resilient, strong, charming, and kind. He loved our family and we love him. We will miss him for the rest of our lives.
This fund goes toward supporting the memorial costs, his cremation and bringing him to be joined with his family in the Philippines in the coming year. Any remainder will be donated to autism charities (such as Autism Ontario) and/or the incredible hospitals that supported his care (Michael Garron Hospital and Toronto General Hospital).
Thank you for your support, thoughts and prayers during this time.
