Donate in memory of Kao Yang

Hello, my name is Ka/Makku. My mom, Kao Yang, recently passed on January 31, 2023 at 12:26 am due to pneumonia. It was very sudden and unexpected. She was having some shortness of breath on Saturday morning (1/28) and I had taken her to the ER. We were there for several hours and doctors said that it was probably just a bacterial/viral starting. The next morning, I found her unresponsive with heavy congested breathing and had to call an ambulance. She was diagnosed with pneumonia and overnight it completely took over her left lung. She ended up having to stay overnight in the ICU with a breathing tube and nurses told me she did not seem to be improving. She was on life support and her body was not strong enough to keep fighting.

She was unable to have kids and adopted my sister and me. She adopted me back in Thailand when I was 4 months old and even though I wasn't her daughter by blood, she raised and loved me like her own. For her whole life, she had so little and yet she always gave so much. Even when people weren't the nicest to her, she would still always offer to help in any way she can. She never asked for anything in return. We're a small family and I am the youngest. My older brother suffered a stroke several years ago and is disabled and my older sister struggles with addiction and is homeless. My siblings are unable to help financially. I am asking for help because I am the only one financially responsible for the funeral costs. I was a PCA for my mom and now I no longer have a job. Any sort of help right now will help me out tremendously. I am the person I am today because of my mom. She was my lifeline and the only real family I ever had.
