In memory of Molly Tanner

Our beautiful, strong, smart and sassy Molly left an enormous hole in our hearts after a tragic accident on Saturday, August 17.
Fiercely loved and to be forever missed by her sister Madie; her best friend, Taco Bell and Starbucks companion and keeper of secrets. Every memory of Molly’s short 21 years will be cherished and her smile and laugh desperately missed by her parents Sheri and Darren Tanner.

Molly Mooster stormed into your heart like she did into a room. She left an impact on everyone she met. She lit up every gathering with her shy at first smile, but when you got to see her genuine smile and heard her laugh you wanted nothing more than to keep hearing it. Already a world traveller as much as her small savings and parent's dime would support; Molly cherished her memories of drinking wine on roof tops of churches in Greece, travelling Harry Potter style on trains from London to France, Italy and back, jetting off to Ireland for a day and a Guinness. Friends and family will hold dear in their hearts their memories of vacations to St Lucia, Dominican and Las Vegas with her. She loved Jays games and her Dad's repeat of the ice …..cold …..beer vendors. From concerts to family trips to Sesame World, Disney, cottages and family reunions, she looked forward to it all. As they had planned out over giggles and drinks, her cousins and Madie would love to take her spirit back to her favourite vacation location; Greece, celebrating her awesomeness by doing all the things she loved; eating, drinking, meeting interesting new people, and discovering new adventures.

A dreamer, an entrepreneur, an artist and musician, she started so many projects, following her passions with confidence and conviction. From drawing, painting, planting, playing music, learning new languages or nurturing her pets, she excelled at most everything she tried. She was an avid foodie with Indian food being her favourite, and rock collector, so many rocks. Molly was brilliant from the start. Talking in full sentences, with a bit of sass and sarcasm even at 18 months old. She entertained her neighbours and family with stories and clearly articulated complaints. You always knew where you stood with Molly. She had all the love in the world for her friends and family and no tolerance for stupidity. She loved sparring oneliners with her Dad, taking up the comfiest space in his garage and his heart. Molly’s forever comfort was within her Moms hugs or sharing early morning and late night chats on Madie’s bed. While Sherman, Teddy and Creed her beloved late pets, will be getting all her hugs, head scratches and smiles now, she will be missed by the sweetest of pets Dave, and mighty guardians Karl and Maggie. She should have had all the time in the world to get back to the Valley and to the cottage where she learned to drive four wheelers, snowmobiles and seadoos, went backroading, tried skiing and earned a her "little cousin" role in the hearts of so many. Plans she was making to visit cousins in Guelph and Ottawa for guaranteed laughs and craziness, forever now put on hold.
Molly was fit and strong, playing with the Ajax Wanderers, her eyes lit up as she played and after - win or lose. She loved the friendships she formed with her teammates. She scored a try in both of her last 2 rugby games and she stood proud and excited about that, giving her the confidence that this was her sport. When she wasn't at Rugby, she was at the gym - she had memberships for 3 different gyms! She worked out her muscles and frustrations regularly. Her first job at Metro seen her through high school at Henry Street as did her successes and many accomplishments in Navy and Sea cadets. She was much loved as a peer helper, always showing compassion and sharing wholehearted laughs. She later tried working at a gym, realizing she was better suited to working out. She pushed through 2 summers at customer service at the company her parents worked for, and didn't hold back her frustrations about how stupid customers could be.

For someone so young, Molly had multiple plans and big dreams. She had schemes and ideas left to carry out. She made promises and deals. We’re not ready to let her off the hook. We want her back and insist she finish the many things she has started. We have absolutely no doubt that once she figured out her path in life, she would have been the most amazing success story. We desperately wish she could have had the time she deserved to figure things out. She will be desperately missed by her many, many relatives, especially Gramma Cobden & Papa, Grandpa Peter and Grandma Joy, Aunties, Uncles and cherished cousins who she shared so many but not enough fun times with . Her special friends know who they are because they are the ones hurting the most right now. When she fell in love, she fell hard and loved fiercely. You are so lucky to have been on the receiving end of that love. ❤️

The family appreciates all of the loving messages being sent their way and the kind short visits from caring supportive friends and family. Arrangements have been made for Molly to be cremated and a time for all to share in her awesomeness will be planned at a later date. We know Molly would appreciate all our support of her sister Madie to help her follow her dreams and fulfill some of the ones Molly would have been right there with her doing. Your outpouring of kindness and overwhelming compassion at this time is forever appreciated.
