On October 6, 2023, Kings County ER has lost a huge pillar in the nursing deparment. Sonia Wilson was more than a nurse who left a lasting imprint in everyone that she had crossed paths with. She was a close friend, mother, sister, wife, and above all a warrior. She exuded kindness, patience, good humor and a positive happy-go-lucky disposition in any situation especially during the long nights in the critical care area. Her wit and grit along with her wealth of knowledge and experience is an indelible part of the emergency room.

Penny Jordan had said it best saying "the heaviness in the ER is palpable" and the loss is felt by many not only by the current staff but by the those she had touched throughout the years. Her presence will definitely be missed and the pain her family is going through is shared by many.
