My name is Casandra Courson, and I am the niece of Terry Gillam, who's life was lost suddenly on the morning of Tuesday, March 19th 2024 at the age of 61. It was pretty out of the blue for our family, because he was always a healthy man, until he was recently diagnosed with diabetes. The diabetes did cause some issues that resulted in a partial foot amputation, but has been doing fine ever since. None of us expected for things to go so far downhill so quickly. He was an amazing man, who deserves to be celebrated. Although he had no immediate family of his own (wife or kids) he was very much a family man. He was goofy, smart, funny, and one of the most generous men you'd ever meet. He would do anything for the people he cared for, and he cared for basically everyone. Because of his run in with a diabetic infection, he had to leave his long-time job as an over-the-road trucker, to be placed on disability. A man that has always worked his butt off, and usually had plenty of money saved, ended up living month to month in a camper, on a family members property. Now we are here to ask our family and friends to help us give him the funeral that he definitely deserves, but we can't afford alone. we are still in the process of making arrangements (there are more factors than usual), but he will most likely be laid to rest in Cuba, MO, at the same cemetery as his late brother, with the funeral being in that same area. We're not extremely familiar with that town, but that's what he would have wanted, so it's taking us a minute to figure out how to make it all work. We will post updates IMMEDIATELY, when we have more information. Any help would be greatly appreciated and since this is the 5th loss in our family, in the last 3 years, we would also be eternally grateful for any and all prayers sent our way ❤️
