Hello, my name is Shakeel Qureshi, and I am fundraising for my cousin Faraz Tahir's family. He was a Refugee who became a victim of the Horrific Bondi Junction Stabbing Tragedy while defending others.

Faraz is my cousin; he lost his parents at a young age. He fled persecution in his home country, Pakistan, and was stuck without a job in Sri Lanka for many years without any other family members during COVID-19. After covid, he finally came to Australia, Brisbane. Here, he had been looking for a job for a long time to support his siblings financially back home. Due to being unable to find a job in Brisbane, he moved to Sydney. He took the course to be a security guard, even though he struggled with the English language. A couple of weeks ago, he returned to Brisbane to visit us and tell us he was very excited to work as he finally got his licence. He then flew back to Sydney. At Bondi Junction, this was his first day on the job; he put other people's lives before his and was killed while defending others.

Support is needed for Faraz's siblings, who face persecution and financial hardship. They wish to afford travel expenses to see their brother's body before his burial and cover funeral costs. Your generosity will allow them to grieve together and honour Faraz's memory with dignity. Your support will make a profound difference during this difficult time.

PLEASE NOTE: This fundraiser is not for me; it is for Faraz's Siblings (Muzafar Ahmad Tahir and Sheraz Ahmad Tahir, the two who will attend the funeral) to support them during this time. As they still need an Australian Bank Account, I will share evidence of transferring the funds directly for them once they are here and make one. My whole purpose is to do what I can to raise awareness and help them during this time.
