Donate in memory of William J Cox

Hi, my name is Naomi. I am fundraising for my father, William J. Cox. My father was born and raised in Frederic, Michigan. Also known as "Bill Cox" and "Uncle Bill". He was very "old school" Farmer. Unfortunately, he did not have any life insurance, leaving his loved ones responsible for his funeral expenses. No one can prepare you for the loss of a loved one. It's something that no matter what you do, you can never prepare yourself for. I had to put my tears and pride aside to make this gofund me for my Dad's unexpected death. He had 10 years of untreated bone cancer. Following poor heart health and lung disease. He was 90 years old. We believe it was a heart attack that stole him from this world on that fatal day.

William was a hard working man that loved his family dearly. He spent nearly every day of his life doing hard labor jobs well into his 70s. He was someone who always earned an honest dollar. He was an honest Abe himself. He was the sole survivor (the youngest son with the family name) when his brothers went to war leaving him to care for his fathers farm and be a farmer all his life.

Being born in 1934 has lead him to live a fairly interesting life. He lived through the great depression! He had 8 children. Three of them accompany him in heaven and the remaining 5, William, Megan, Naomi, Andrew, and Leeanna lived close by with families of thier own. William loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed meeting up with friends and relatives. Cherishing the time he spent with loved ones even if it was just a short time.

William Cox was a selfless man. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need no matter the circumstances. Even when William had nothing, he some how still had everything he needed. If he was down to his last dollar and someone asked him for a dollar, he would give it to them.

The funds will go to help William's children collectively pay for his funeral costs during this very difficult time. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. We wish for people to feel free to attend the funeral on May 20th, 2024 at the Sorenson-Lockwood funeral home in Grayling, Michigan.
