Guillermo Flores Sr., known as “Willie” to all who knew him, passed away on Monday, November 18, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. For over 50 years, Willie dedicated himself to the mining and tunneling industry, earning a reputation for his extensive knowledge and invaluable experience. His work took him to projects across the United States and around the world, with his most recent role as a General Superintendent on a project in Tuscaloosa, AL.
To support his surviving wife, Carol, and their family during this difficult time, we have created this GoFundMe page to help alleviate the financial burden of related expenses.
On a personal note, I had the privilege of working with Willie at the Tuscaloosa, AL job site and we quickly became friends. He was not only one of the hardest-working individuals I’ve ever met but also deeply committed to his work and the well-being of his crew. He also had a wicked sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. Willie’s dedication and character left an indelible mark on everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He will be deeply missed.
Services for Willie will be held in Las Vegas, NV, after the holiday season. Once the arrangements are finalized, we will share the details here.
