Celebrating the life of David Coomber

(1953 - 2024)

Hi everyone,

We’re coming together to celebrate a truly amazing person, my dad, David Coomber. Dad was the kind of guy who made everyone feel like they had a friend in him, especially here in the village of Combe Martin. After a life filled with laughter, love, and endless dedication to our community, Dad passed away peacefully on February 25th at North Devon District Hospital, surrounded by family.

Dad was all about making a difference and had a knack for turning his passions into community treasures. He absolutely loved driving and was a familiar, friendly face in the Combe Martin Community Car Scheme. Whether he was giving lifts to those who needed them or just out for a drive, he believed every journey was an adventure and a chance to bring smiles.

The Combe Martin Village Hall was another place close to his heart. Dad threw himself into village hall activities, from acting in plays to organising fundraisers. He loved the buzz of community spirit and worked tirelessly to make sure it was a hub of joy and togetherness for everyone.

Now, it’s our turn to keep his spirit alive and kicking in the places he cherished most. We’ve set up this GoFundMe to celebrate Dad’s life by supporting the Community Car Scheme and Village Hall - two causes he was passionate about.

Every penny we raise will go straight into making sure these community gems continue to shine and serve just as Dad would have wanted. Whether you can give a little or a lot, it’s all about coming together to honor a man who gave so much of himself to help others.

Let’s do this for Dad. Let’s make sure his legacy of kindness, fun, and community spirit lives on!
