Hello, this is Sarabeth Green. On January 14th , just after midnight Emily Shelley MacLee took her last breaths. A few days prior, after sending her children off to school and then sharing some breakfast with her husband, she experienced what is thought to have been a massive heart attack. She immediately seized up and went unconscious. Consciousness was never regained. Each day after the attack, there were fewer and fewer signs of neurological activity. On Saturday, January 13th, her family had to reconcile with the fact that the doctors explained that there was no hope and that it was only the machines keeping her alive. She was only 44 years old and her family had to let go.
Emily was my best friend for the past 30 years. She has been the friend I could tell her anything and everything. She understood me, listened to me, gave me the best advice and loved everything about me. We laughed together and cried together. She was the friend that was there for me when others couldn’t be. She perhaps knew me in ways that nobody else does and always brought out the best parts of myself. She cared deeply for all her friends and family and gave every bit of her life to loving. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter and sister. So many have spoken about her shine, her contagious laughter and the positive effect she had on their lives. Her name could be Emily Shiny McGleeful.
Unfortunately, with her passing, her husband and 3 children are left in a difficult and saddened situation. Along with the enormous grief comes the financial challenges. There are some medical expenses associated with her passing. Additionally, her oldest child, who lives several states away, was not able to attend the short term celebration of life that was held for Emily due to a lack of monetary assets. As spring is soon to arrive, Emily’s family hopes that they can all gather when Emily’s ashes will be taken to the mountains near her home. Writing this request is very emotionally difficult for me, and thus very delayed, but I have really wanted to try and help her husband and children. Help bring her oldest child home so they can gather when Emily's ashes are given back to the earth. Please help ease the burden and lighten the load that Emily’s husband has to bear as he continues to care for and raise their 2 young children and transition into life as a single father.
